A message from our Chair, Chris French

Hello and a very warm welcome to our brand-new website! We hope you love the look and we look forward to sharing all we do here with you. And what exactly is that?

Lambeth Links was founded as the LGBTQ+ forum for those who live, work, study and socialise in the borough of Lambeth. We believe that our future is our Community. We need to do all we can, collectively, to allow it to achieve its full potential.

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes over the last year or so, making connections with those organisations that provide essential services and support to our Community. We are named Lambeth Links as we believe that together, we are stronger and that linking in to bodies such as Lambeth Council, South East London Clinical Commissioning Group and the Met Police we will make sure that all our voices are heard. We aim to serve as a central point of rallying, communication and advocacy on behalf of our Community who. We will put our priorities in their agenda.

Established during the first lockdown of 2020, Lambeth Links has grown with local community members, all of whom are volunteers. Lambeth has the highest resident LGBTQ+ population int eh UK. That’s a lot of people and we want to make sure that they are being properly protected, properly helped and properly supported. But we need your help to do this.

We need you to be our eyes and ears for all those that make up our community. If you experience, hear or are made aware of a transphobia or biphobia, we want to know. If someone has been discriminated against within the Community because of their colour, religion or due to having a disability, we want to know; if there is not enough being done in the local health system around recognition of sexuality and gender, we want to know; but we also want to know what is going right, what should be celebrated and what ideas you have to make things better! This is for all of us.

We are new, we are volunteers so please bear with us but we do want to hear from you and for you to hear from us.

Please visit our events section where you can what we have happening across LGBT History month.

We look forward to meeting you.

Chris
